Notes
There
have been two eMAX vehicles. The original
2002 vehicle was essentially MAX converted from petrol to electric drive.
The second, built in 2004, used the same electric drive system added
to the HPV Discovery. The canopy was strengthened and
the battery trays were moved to a position under the front cross-member
for better weight distribution. In 2004 it only competed at the AIPP. It did not
compete in the RACV EB in 2003 and 2004 as the rules at the time
required more batteries to be carried than could be reasonably fitted to
the vehicle.
The vehicle
has proven to be very fast, has set fastest laps at many outings but is
a challenge for young riders to control.
Competition Record
2002 RACV Energy Breakthrough: Runners- up
hybrid 1 open class trial and overall. The vehicle ran strongly but
suffered a bad crash, bending the front cross-member. It was repaired
and finished third across the line.
2004 AIPP.
Set fastest lap in top ten shoot out to take pole position of all
vehicles. Winner of hybrid section which was the last year hybrids ran
at the AIPP.
