The purpose of the energy vehicle program at
Weeroona College is to provide an environment focused on energy
efficient vehicle competition within which all members of a learning
community have the opportunity to participate, learn and grow.
The energy vehicle program:-
- is for students, ex-students, parents, community members and
teachers to learn and grow in a stimulating and
engaging environment.
- is
not about simply building and racing vehicles, it is about growing as
people.
- is grounded on the
need for sustainable forms of energy for transport.
- is about people
showing initiative, doing
their best, taking on responsibilities and accepting consequences.
- involves mentoring,
teaching, leadership, problem solving, adaptation, improvisation,
commitment, meeting deadlines, learning from our mistakes & team work.
- is about developing
positive relationships across age, gender and different personality &
interest groups.
- requires respect for
others, respect for property & respect for oneself.
- builds knowledge about
technology, science, the environment & engineering in a practical hands
on way.
